Description
The Imperial Reserva 2000 is a red wine from the iconic CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España) winery, one of the oldest and most respected names in Rioja. This wine is an example of the excellence and tradition of the region, standing out for its elegance, complexity and ageing capacity. Made primarily from Tempranillo grapes, complemented by Graciano and Mazuelo, it offers a unique wine experience that reflects the character of the Rioja terroir.
Characteristics of the Vineyard and Harvest
The 2000 vintage was exceptional in Rioja, characterized by a balanced climate that allowed for a slow and uniform ripening of the grapes. The vineyards from which this wine comes are located in high areas of Rioja Alta, with clay-calcareous soils that provide minerality and structure to the wine. The harvest was carried out manually, selecting the best grapes to guarantee the highest quality in each bottle.
Production and Ageing
Imperial Reserva 2000 undergoes traditional vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for slow and gentle fermentation. It is then aged in American and French oak barrels for 24 months, followed by bottle-aging for at least 2 years before release to the market. This long and meticulous ageing process allows the wine to develop exceptional depth and complexity, integrating the tannins and creating a perfect harmony between fruit and wood.
