Description
The Matarromera Crianza 2000 is an emblematic red wine from the prestigious Matarromera winery, located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, one of the most renowned wine regions in Spain. This wine, which is made with 100% Tempranillo grapes (also known as Tinta del País), represents the winery’s commitment to quality and tradition, offering an oenological experience that stands out for its elegance, complexity and persistence.
The 2000 vintage is characterized by being a year of exceptional climatic conditions in the Ribera del Duero, with a cold and rainy winter followed by a warm spring that favored the development of the vines. The hot, dry summer allowed for optimal ripening of the grapes, with a harvest at the right balance between acidity and sugars, resulting in a wine with remarkable structure and aging potential.
Matarromera Crianza 2000 is made from grapes hand-selected from vineyards located at over 700 metres above sea level, where the calcareous and clay soils provide a unique minerality. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures, which allows the fruity aromas characteristic of Tempranillo to be preserved.
The wine is then aged in American and French oak barrels for 14 months. This combination of barrels gives the wine a unique aromatic complexity, with nuances of vanilla, cocoa and sweet spices. Once bottled, the wine rests for at least 12 more months in the cellar to reach its fullness before being marketed.
